How To Make Easter Dipped Pretzel Rods
The only two kitchen tools you’ll need for this recipe is a tall drinking glass, rolling pin and large freezer bags for crushing the Oreos. The chocolate will be melted in the microwave, so there’s no need to worry about a double broiler. Find the decorative carrots in your local box store, or there’s carrot sprinkles on Amazon!

How To Keep Your Dipped Pretzels Fresh
After your chocolate has set, add the pretzels to an airtight food storage container. If you stack the pretzel rods, add layers of wax paper in-between. Keep the pretzels away from direct heat or moisture. For best freshness, enjoy the pretzels within 3-4 days of making them!
Can You Freeze These Dipped Pretzels?
Unfortunately, I don’t recommend freezing the Easter Dipped Pretzels. The pretzels don’t maintain their crisp texture and they soften a bit in the freezer. Plus, the freezer temperature can vary when the door opens, causing the chocolate to slightly soften – which means the carrots could fall off. Just make a new batch instead of freezing!

If you can’t find any Oreos, Nabisco Famous Chocolate Wafers work well too. If you prefer milk chocolate, instead of the white chocolate, use milk chocolate chips to dip your pretzel rods! Bunny decor is another great alternative to the carrots, if that’s all you can find. Put your own creative twist on it!
What You’ll Need From The Store:
- Pretzel Rods
- Wilton White Candy Melts
- Oreo Cookies
- Carrot Sprinkles (Sugar Decor) or Bunnies
- Tools: Tall Drinking Glass, Rolling Pin, Freezer Bags
Directions To Make Easter Dipped Pretzel Rods
In a small microwave safe bowl, melt your white candy melts on 50% power for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted. 1 1/2 minutes was the perfect amount for me.
Pour your white chocolate into a tall glass.
Dip each pretzel rod into the tall glass and place the white chocolate covered pretzel rods onto a piece of parchment paper.
Place your Oreos in a sandwich bag and crush the cookies with a rolling pin.
Sprinkle the crushed cookies onto the white chocolate covered pretzels. Do it a couple of times to get a nice coating.
Place 3 carrot candies on each pretzel. I gently press them into the chocolate so they stay secure.
Let the chocolate set for about 15 minutes or until the chocolate has hardened and enjoy! Serve with coffee for adults and ice cream for kids. They are also great on a dessert tray.
