The Amwell doctors encounter minor illnesses and injuries, general health and wellness concerns, prescription refills, and chronic condition management.
I’ve used Amwell several times, for numerous occasions. I’ve talked to physicians about teething, scraps and cuts that the kids get, colds and other acute illnesses. This time, I’m consulting with one of their pediatricians about my son’s earache. We want to double check that he’s ok before our holiday travel.

Download the free Amwell app directly onto your phone and start to fill out your profile. I answered a few background information questions and gave them the contact information to the pharmacy that’s convenient for me.
After requesting an urgent care visit (starting at $59) for my oldest, I’m able to pick the physician of my choice. I saw their area of expertise and where they received a medical degree alongside their photo. Typically, I like to pick whoever is first available.
It’s always great to see a doctor right away. When we’re traveling, it saves me time from having to look up local doctor as well. I find that the doctors always listen to my concerns, ask questions and look at what they need to. You can even send photos directly to the physician – I love that for wound care. In this case, we talked about my oldest’s symptoms and even his allergy issues.
I left with some peace of mind and an action plan. Best of all, I know what to look for while we’re traveling in case his symptoms escalate. We didn’t need a prescription, but Amwell can send a prescription in electronically to your pharmacy.
The convenience of Amwell fits well with our on-the-go lifestyle. I also find that our kids associate shots with our regular pediatrician as well and they’re not always cooperative. Amwell fixes that issue because we can be in the comfort of our home.
