Run Disney is addicting. I know firsthand, since I’ve been running their races since 2012. Once you cross that finish line, it’s an achievement that definitely feels magical. The races are like no others and every runner seems to find a way back to the starting line. Now, Run Disney is cashing in the experiences and taking it to the next level. Club Run Disney is their newest addition – that you’ll have to pay for.

What Is The Club Run Disney Membership?
It’s a membership for Run Disney fans that’s a year-long service. They will be offering three different tiers, and three different price points. The first year that they’ll be offering the service will be offered from October 1st, 2020 – September 30th, 2021.
Club Run Disney Benefits
There are three levels of Club runDisney membership – Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Silver Membership costs $265.43, Gold Membership costs $478.63, and Platinum Membership costs $798.43.
All club members will receive a welcome package including an exclusive jacket, and will have access to the lowest race registration pricing all year, a new Virtual 10K in Fall 2020 that is exclusively for Club runDisney members, and special Club runDisney designation on race bibs during on-site events. All of these benefits are included with a Silver Membership.
Gold Membership will include all of the silver perks, along with early registration access with a guaranteed spot in the half marathon or marathon distance each race weekend.
Platinum Membership will have all of these benefits, plus early registration with a guaranteed spot in one distance each race weekend; upgraded corral placement; and an exclusive Expo experience with early admittance to the runDisney Merchandise Shop, a special character meet and greet, and access to a Club runDisney Lounge with expedited race packet pick-up.
Club Run Disney Controversy
Here’s my two-cents: runners should not be allowed to buy corral placement from the Platinum Membership status. As someone who has been in Corral A and the last corral for the Dopey Challenge, I respectfully took my spot in the corral and still crossed the finish line.
When you start allowing slow runners to buy their way into faster corrals, it becomes a safety issue and it becomes less of a privilege for the runners who worked hard for their placement. This Club Run Disney announcement has set runners on fire via social media. It will be really interesting to see the first race weekend, when runners are allowed to use their Platinum Status.
I do know that Run Disney takes safety VERY SERIOUSLY. I doubt this will still be an opportunity to purchase if it causes serious safety concerns.
