Celebrating Spring With Chevrolet Equinox and National Picnic Day

If April showers bring May flowers, then Atlanta is ready for a gorgeous month. With an unusual slow start to Spring, our family has been missing the outdoors. When we found out that National Picnic Day was approaching (don’t you love crazy holidays?), we agreed to make the most of it and use it as an excuse for some family time.

My oldest, who takes after my love of silly holidays, immediately jumped on our plan and helped me pack a picnic basket. With a lot of delicious snacks and treats, we were ready for a family adventure in the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox.

From the carpool line to outdoor adventures with the family, I need a vehicle that can keep up with my life and transition for all of our needs. I want something that accommodate my whole family and, most importantly, keep us safe. The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox fits the bill and does so in style.

The more time you spend with a vehicle, the more time you have to appreciate all of the details. I got the opportunity to see how the Equinox fits our family. Loaded with features, it made every day tasks easier while keeping us safe and giving us the options we love.

The Equinox Can Multi-Task Just Like Moms

The powered hands-free lift gate was something I never knew I needed until having kids. With the kick of your foot, the rear lift gate opens for me when I’ve got my hands full. At the same time, the wireless charging is keeps my phone charged in the center console – because the Equinox can multi-task like any Mom.

The dual zone climate control and jet black leather kept the whole family comfortable on the way to our picnic. Both of our kids + 2 carseats, and one fluffy mutt, fit in the back seat. We jammed out to the kid’s station on XM Radio, with the windows rolled down, to enjoy the awesome weather. I love how the Apple CarPlay reads any incoming text message outloud, so I can stay focused on the road.

Safety Features That Families Need

With my precious cargo smiling in the rearview mirror, safety comes first. For the first time, I felt 100% in control while backing up. The rear vision camera with a 360 degree birds-eye view is essential. Plus, the rear cross traffic alert vibrates the driver’s seat to alert you of passing traffic and what side they are approaching from – how cool is that?

We ventured out to find a picnic spot and soak up some sun. The Mountain Way Common park is a hidden gem in Atlanta and the perfect place to celebrate National Picnic Day. No matter where life takes you, the Chevrolet Equinox is equipped to bring you the comforts of home. The 4G LTE Wi-Fi lets me upload photographic evidence of family fun onto social media – from anywhere.

What Mom wouldn’t want to showcase the family photos?

In the end, I think my little guys were too excited to even snack with us. It was awesome to finally get some great weather and enjoy the boys. We ran around, threw the frisbee, hiked and explored the park. Sometimes you just need to carve some family time out of your week and get away in Chevrolet.
