The flavor of these Candy Corn Halloween Jello Shots are going to be sweet no matter what you use. Top shelf alcohol will make a smoother flavor. Going with a cheaper brand isn’t bad though because of the sugar content. It will cut any burning that you’d have if you were drinking it on your own. So go ahead and use what you’ve got on hand!

I used Smirnoff Vanilla Vodka, but there are many brands that sell vanilla vodka and it’s easy to find all year round.

In my experience, when the jello shots come out, they don’t last long! However, you might need a way to keep them from melting. I like to serve mine over ice. You can use a beverage bucket and fill it with ice. Transfer the Candy Corn Jello Shots right before your party begins and keep them over ice. Did you know that adding some kosher salt to your ice will keep it from melting? That’s what to do!

What You Need To Make Candy Corn Jello Shots

Directions To Make Candy Corn Halloween Jello Shots

Using a medium bowl, add 1 C cold water and the 4 unflavored gelatin packages. Allow to sit for 5 minutes. Whisk in the 2 C boiling water and whisk until dissolved.

Whisk in the sweetened condensed milk and 1 C Vanilla Vodka. Allow the white mixture to cool slightly. Divide the mixture into three bowls.

In one bowl, whisk in a few drops of the yellow gel food coloring. In the second bowl, whisk in a few drops of the orange gel food coloring. Leave the third bowl color free.

Using the syringe, fill the the containers 1⁄3 way fill with the white jello. Place into the fridge for 45 minutes. Using the orange jello, fill the containers another 1/3rd layer.

Place into the fridge for 45 minutes. Using the yellow jello, fill the containers with the yellow jello. Place into the fridge overnight to allow it to completely set. Garnish with candy corn and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Boiling Water
  • 1 Cup Cold Water
  • 2 (14 oz) Can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 4 (.25 oz) Packages of Unflavored Gelatin
  • 1 Cup Smirnoff Vanilla Vodka
  • 16 1 oz To-go Condiment Containers With Lids
  • Yellow and Orange Gel Food Coloring
  • Garnish: Candy Corn
  • Tools Needed: Measuring Cup With Spout or a Large Syringe

Instructions

    8. Using the yellow jello, fill the containers with the yellow jello. Place into the fridge overnight to allow it to completely set. Garnish with candy corn and enjoy!

Notes

Keep the jello shots in the refrigerator until right before serving. If possible, you want to keep them chilled during a party - by serving over ice.
