How To Make Buffalo Chex Snack Mix

For this recipe, you’ll need a baking sheet with the sides raised. This will prevent any of the snack mix from falling off the sides and keep the coating on the mix. I cover my baking sheeting with aluminum foil. This helps to prevent a big mess and assists with easy clean up!

What To Serve With Buffalo Chex Snack Mix

The crunchy texture of the snack mix is great for cocktail time. Serve this snack on game day or during the holiday season when you’ve got guests standing around the kitchen. Buffalo Chex Snack Mix goes will with an IPA beer or just a soda – I love mine with Diet Coke.

Consider serving the snack mix as an easy appetizer. Pair the snack mix with other appetizers, like a creamy poblano dip or Cheez-It Coated Chicken Fingers. That gives you a variety of appetizer to pick from!

How To Store Leftover Buffalo Chex Snack Mix

I like that you can throw the snack mix all together to bake and it’s ready whenever you need it. Just store it in an air-tight food storage container and it will last about six months in your pantry. My kids love the flavor and eat it as an after-school snack sometimes too!

Do not freeze your snack mix. It won’t freeze well because that adds moisture to the snack mix. The moisture changes the texture of the mix. Just make a new batch instead of freezing it.

Recipe Substitutions

Feel free to use any type of nut that you want or change out the mix ingredients. This is such a versatile recipe. Add bagel chips if you want, take out the Cheerios if you aren’t feeling them. Use your favorite pretzel shape – go for grids or opt for twists! Make the snack mix yours.

If you’re looking to avoid sodium, opt for the counterpart ingredients of the snack mix that have less sodium. Hot sauce brands have different amounts of sodium, so you can look for one that’s less heavy on the sodium.
