You literally can’t miss a Buc-ee’s Gas Station when you’re on a road trip, because the billboard signs start about 50 miles (both directions) as you drive closer. They’re known for clean restrooms, countless fuel stations and the huge 24/7 convenience stores – which are around 68k square feet. Hands down, it’s worth adding a stop on your trip to see it. If you’re hungry, here are the BEST Buc-ee’s snacks to buy AND what you shouldn’t waste your money on!

When you first walk into a Buc-ee’s, you’re blown away by the sheer size of the store. They sell almost everything you can imagine – from baby clothing to home decor and fishing supplies. It’s a time sucker and, beware, you can spend money like it’s water at Buc-ee’s.
But everybody needs to eat and snacking is one of my favorite parts of road tripping. Snacking somehow relieves the boredom and it’s something to look forward to. As you pass the numerous billboards for Buc-ee’s, they’ll start enticing you with the snack options: beef jerky, brisket, beaver nuggets and candy. By the time you arrive, you might have in mind what you want to try.

Some of the Buc-ee’s snacks are fantastic and others are a waste of money. I ate my way through the largest convenience station, as my duty, to give you this list! Hopefully, it saves your wallet and tantalizes your tastebuds.

The Best Buc-ee’s Snacks To Buy When You Stop
Some of these snacks are heavy and you might want to eat them at Buc-ee’s. They might even count as a meal for some people. Other items are great for hopping back in the car and munch on them as you go. There’s a great array of price ranges for the snacks, with packaged items being less expense than what’s prepared fresh daily.

Buc-ee’s Beaver Nugget Snacks
One of the items they’re most famous for is their Beaver Nuggets. You can usually score a free sample of Beaver Nuggets to try before buying. The “nuggets” are like kernel-less popcorn that are coated with flavor. They have a puffy air-like texture and they’re addictive. Sea Salted Caramel and Cinnamon are a few of the flavors to pick from. They’re popular for a reason – because they’re so delicious and easy to snack on.

Candied Almonds & Chocolate-Covered Pecans
Are you feeling a bit nutty? Don’t miss their selection of nuts. The Candied Almonds and Pecans are made fresh in-store with a coating of sugar (a favorite of snack queen Lola Lambchops). The Chocolate-Covered Pecans can be found in the packaged nut section. They’re a great combination of sweet and salty. Surprisingly, for nuts, the prices aren’t too bad either.

Buc-ee’s Beef Jerky That’s Made Fresh In-Store
If you ask someone what Buc-ee’s is famous for, they’ll probably say beaver nuggets or beef jerky. They have two different sections of beef jerky – fresh and packaged. You can buy the fresh beef jerky by the pound and it’s packaged for you. Pick from all sorts of sweet or spicy flavors for a tender protein snack. People love the beef jerky!

Buc-ee’s BBQ Smoked Brisket
Taking center stage, with a huge crowd watching, you can always find a Buc-ee’s employee slicing fresh brisket. The smell is intoxicating and you’re immediately drawn in. Don’t be fooled though, this is slightly more than a snack. One of the brisket sandwiches is a hearty choice, but it’s great that they prep the sandwich in front of you. Shoppers can also purchase the brisket by the pound:
- Brisket Sliced Without Sauce $22.99 Per Pound
- Chopped With Sauce $19.99 Per Pound

The Coffee and Hot Chocolate Bar
If you’re a coffee lover, then you’ve got to stop at Buc-ee’s and check out the countless options. They have tons of flavored drip coffee (and hot chocolate) to pick from. Then, there are tons of creamers and sweeter options to pick from. Make your own creation and pay a fraction of what you’d pay for at Starbucks. Plus, they keep the beverage station fresh 24/7 if you need a caffeine pick-me-up at odd hours.

The Worst Buc-ee’s Snacks (Not To Waste Money On)
For the worst of Buc-ee’s snacks, some of these are awful because of the price and others just simply taste bad. When you’re the world’s largest convenience station, you can’t possibly excel at everything. That includes snacks too. Fair warning, avoid these options when you stop and save yourself the money.
Homemade Fudge At Buc-ee’s
A lot of people fall for the fudge. There are several fudge flavors to pick from and you purchase the fudge by the pound. Some of the flavors are note-worthy (like chocolate peanut butter), but you’re overpaying for the fudge. Prices start at $3.50 per slice, but they have a “buy 4, get 2 free” deal. Personally, I say skip it all together!

Spicy Crackers (Flavored “Sizzlin’ Saltine” Crackers)
The Buc-ee’s spicy crackers are over-priced for what they are. Essentially, you buy a handful of crackers for more than the price of a Saltine Cracker box. They’re spicy flavored, and a “crack cracker” knock-off. Many people think that they’re a rip off and too spicy. You don’t know until after you’ve bought them, so save your money on these.

Next time you’re having a craving, or need to stop for fuel, don’t pass on the chance to stop at Buc-ee’s. Everyone needs to experience at least once. Love it or hate it, now you’re armed with the best Buc-ee’s snacks to pick from. Go on and get your snack on, the smart way!
