So I’ve got BIG news to share: my husband and I are expecting our second baby!
I’ve shared my desire, with my readers, to grow my family after running my first WDW Marathon back in January. It was something we had discussed for a while and felt natural to us as JP is almost 3 years old.
We started “trying” after the Princess Half Marathon. I’m not ashamed to admit that my Run Disney race schedule has determined both of my kid’s birthdays. For the first time, I experienced an instant longing to be pregnant. I’m rather impatient and wanted instant gratification. Well…that’s exactly what we got!
I found out late March that I was pregnant. It’s been hard to keep the news off of the blog, but I struggled around 8 weeks pregnant with some worrisome bleeding.
Luckily, I’ve been very fortunate to have a smooth pregnancy since that incident. I even walked the Star Wars Darkside Half Marathon in April! It blows me away that I ran my first marathon and (will) have a baby all within one year. Talk about extremes!
I’m certainly staying active with walking, swimming and Pilates, but I’m choosing to take a short break from running. It’s only 9 months of my life and the bleeding I had, in the first trimester, was enough to scare me. So I’m sticking with low impact exercise, even though I truly miss my runs!
Today, I’m 18 weeks along and due November 29th. This will be baby boy #2 for us! We are beyond excited that JP will have a brother to play with.
Now that I’ve shared the big news, I’ll keep you updated with my pre-baby planning, bump photos and post baby fitness progress. Being halfway, I’m sure the year will fly by. I’ll be pushing a double jogging stroller, with two boys, before you know it.
…then it’s game-on for running again!
