Of course, somebody has to supply the snacks! These cute 4th of July Rice Krispies Cones are such a fun 4th of July kid’s snack idea. Serve them before fireworks or as a fun dessert option for a BBQ.

How To Prep These 4th of July Rice Krispies Cones Ahead Of Time
These are so easy to prep ahead of time. You can either follow the whole recipe and store them in an airtight food storage container or just dip the cones and wait to complete the rest of the recipe. If you store them in an airtight food storage container and layer them, place wax paper between the cones so they aren’t touching. This will prevent any damage.
How To Store Leftovers
The Rice Krispies Treats do not need to be refrigerated. They can be stored on the countertop, but I recommend keeping them away from direct heat. For the best freshness, enjoy the treats within 4-5 days of making them. I do not recommend freezing the treats because the texture will change as it thaws.

How To Make These 4th of July Rice Krispies Cones
If you want to play around with the colors, try purchasing the patriotic blend of Rice Krispies cereal too! It usually shows up in the grocery stores around mid-June.

In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine your marshmallows and butter and heat for 1-2 minutes until the marshmallows get puffy and the butter is melted.

Mix in the Rice Krispies cereal and let cool in a bowl. Heat the candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl for 3-4 minutes on 50% power, stirring every 30 seconds until melted. Hold the cones upside down and dip into the melted chocolate, shaking off any excess.

Immediately coat the chocolate with 4th of July nonpareil sprinkles and place in the freezer to harden. Scoop out a handful of Rice Krispies and press into and into the cones, shaping each one like a scoop of ice cream. Be careful not to press too hard.

Carefully press done more 4th of July sprinkles onto the top and enjoy!

Another alternative is making these with colored cones and different sprinkles for a dessert that’s not just for the 4th of July! You be as creative as you want with the colors for whatever event you want to celebrate.
