Run Disney just revealed the 2020-2021 race season schedule and on-sale dates! If you’ve never participated in a Run Disney event previously, they’re so much fun. However, they do take some extra vacation planning and that’s why it’s so great that they’ve announced these dates already. Planning a Run Disney vacation requires going the extra mile (literally) and training for the races on top of your typical Walt Disney World vacation planning.
What Is A Run Disney Race?
I’ve participated in over thirty Run Disney events since 2012. While they’ve changed a bit over the years, they’re truly the most magical running experience.
With entertainment, beloved characters, and Disney magic at every mile, runDisney races are memorable experiences for runners of all ages and skill levels. They’re also the best opportunity for guests to run through all four theme parks before the park opens. During the marathon, riders are even allowed to hop on some of the rides along the course, like Expedition Everest (if you can keep pace).
Runners love to dress up as their favorite Disney characters for the races. You’ll see group costumes, couples doing costumes together or runners just wearing the colors of their favorite characters. No one is required to dress up, but it certainly makes it more fun.
2020 – 2021 Run Disney Race Dates & Calendar
There’s one very noticeable thing missing from this 2020 – 2021 calendar: the Disneyland races aren’t returning. While many runners, on social media, were hopeful the Disneyland races would be returning, it doesn’t seem like it’s happening in the near future.
However, it will be the fifth year of the Disneyland Paris Half Marathon Weekend. Runners can earn some international anniversary medals. Plus, if you want to Run Disney at home, they’re bringing back the ever-so-popular virtual race series for summer 2020.
